Saturn Vue Hybrid

With the Saturn Vue Hybrid, General Motors started a green line that aimed first and foremost at being accessible. As they claim, the model is actually the best fuel-saving hybrid car in its category. An engine distinguishing feature is the fuel gasoline feeding with a generator used instead of an alternator to send gas to the engine. The difference between the Saturn Vue Hybrid and other full hybrids is that the vehicle can't get autonomous by using electrical power only. The power device in the hybrid dual-mode is not available just yet, and will be present with the car dealers in 2009.

One further automotive success  that General Motors aims to accomplish on the basis of their Saturn Vue Hybrid is the plug-in hybrid, but the making of such a model is closely connected with the availability of the lithium-ion batteries. At present, a car running on this type of batteries is in the test phase, while the Saturn Vue Hybrid remains to take full advantage of its market success. Ill speakers say that the hybrid model remains a trick used by those from General Motors as a masque for the lack of environmental concern.

Saturn Vue Hybrid uses a “belt alternator starter” according to General Motors, in a system that relies on a large electric motor that is linked to the crankshaft by means of a special drive belt, all being possible thanks to an improved automatic transmission. Without using the “start-stop”system Saturn Vue Hybrid has an engine that starts and stops automatically thus influencing the acceleration force significantly. Like with all the other hybrid designs, Saturn Vue Hybrid recharges the electrical battery by regenerating the braking energy and storing it.

If compared to the regular gas-fueled vehicles, the Saturn Vue Hybrid saves you around 20% of the regular fuel consume. Several types of the Saturn Vue Hybrid have been promoted with a growing improvement when it comes to acceleration times and standard speed per hour from one model to another. A careful analysis of the technical features of the designs together with the fuel consume and the gains you've got from the hybrid function should be conclusive for any purchase. If you can wait a little further, and you don't need to buy a car right away, you could stay until the new Saturn Vue Hybrid with plug in design is launched in 2009.

Can a CFII with zero hours dual given, give training to a CFI for his CFII?

Can a CFII train a CFI to get his instrument rating? i was asked this in my CFI training and i have forgotten the answer. Plus i have a friend who wants his CFII and i have low hours as a flight instructor. It's a answer i've been trying to find for a while.

to whittle it down a bit. you need 200 hours of dual given to train a CFI. If you don't have the 200 hours, i think it's ok to train an add-on rating to the CFI? i need a little help with this question

Assuming that your friend holds or has ever held a CFI-ASE or CFI-AME, or other CFI, and you hold a CFII, then YES you may. Whether you should or not is a different issue that I will leave to you and your student.

Just to clarify something that many people miss. There is no such thing as an unadorned CFI. A CFI is always issued with at least one rating. The traditional CFI will have Airplane Single Engine, but may start with Instrument-Airplane, Airplane Multiengine, or others.

FAR 61.195 clearly delineates the 2 year and 200 hours of dual given is for original issuance of a CFI, not an add-on. So, for instance, you may NOT take a green CPL with no CFI at all and instruct towards a CFI Instrument Airplane. On the other hand if he holds a CFI with ASE or other rating, then you may instruct away.

Will Media Be Revolutionized By $12-A-Month Streaming Service For Free TV? (Deadline Hollywood)

I agree more often than not with BTIG analyst Rich Greenfield's industry
insights. So I'm surprised to see how impressed he is today with a new product
that strikes me as a likely loser: Aereo. The company just announced that it
will go live in New York City on March 14. Residents willing to pay $12 a
month will be able to stream signals from local over-the-air TV channels, and
watch their shows on demand with the functionality of a 40-hour, dual antenna
DVR. The service will only work as long as users are in the local market --
not, say, if they're on a vacation or business trip. Aereo execs expect lots
of people to subscribe, perhaps in conjunction with Netflix, as a substitute
for the $65 a month cable or satellite TV package. That could be
revolutionary, Greenfield writes today in a blog post: "If Aereo is in fact
legal, we find it hard to fathom that the traditional (pay TV) bundle will
survive and that retrans payments will continue to scale as broadcasters are
expecting them to over the next several years." If he's right, then it's the
end of the media world as ...
