You can't. If you are having a region code issue - then there is a fix for that by turning the unit on, opening the tray, then pressing and holding the record button and then a half-second later pressing and holding the "dub to DVD" button - which is a silver button on the far right with an arrow pointing to DVD. Hold both down together for a total of about 10 seconds and it should reset your region. However, unlocking all region codes on the unit would require knowledge of placing it in service mode and changing the programming - which will void your warranty.

I'd be very very surprised if that actually does anything other than change the channel on the unit to channel 70 - if in cable tuning mode. I highly doubt that it will make it region free.
