Looking At The Fujitsu Tablet PCs
First of all Fujitsu Tablet PCs are actual personal computers. They aren't gimmicky toys or simple internet access devices. They run Windows 7 Pro, not a cut down version or a slapdash tablet only operating system. Buying a Fujitsu is jumping in the deep end, and the deep end feels good.
The fact that Windows 7 is the base you are working from here means that you don't have to learn new programs and purchase a half-functional app. Everything that you're using now will work just fine on your new tablet. Everything that you're working on now can be transferred quickly and easily, and anything you create can just as easily pass back to your laptop or desktop.
You can choose from two styles as well. The slate is a traditional screen-in-a-box, but the convertible option gives all the functionality of a tablet with the convenience of a full keyboard and Blu-Ray disc player. The convertibles also feature larger screens and a wider range of ports and possible peripherals. Everything is touch screen with or without a stylus.
A convertible is able to deliver much greater performance and storage capacity because of it's larger size. On both counts they are able to compete with laptops. For those who really need that extra power at their finger tips and don't mind a little extra weight and size this is the way to go. They aren't quite laptop size, and the touchscreen means no mouse to set up or annoying touchpad. If you need the performance you can afford a bag to carry it around in.
There are many tablets on the market that are little more than up-size cellphones that don't make calls. Why buy something that doesn't do anything more than your smartphone does already? A Fujitsu is for people who need to get real business done. If you want streaming video and a media player then you are getting more power than you need. If you can't afford to be away from work even when you're away from your desk then this is your option.
In the performance arena these machines come up in the top of most categories. They have processors that are faster (single core) than the competition, and their storage space is second to none with an SD slot for even more space.
No matter what you choose you will get full wireless connectivity. You don't have to worry about cell reception, just about everywhere you sit down in every major city has its own wi-fi network. This, coupled with the Windows operating system, also means complete compatibility with your home or office network, so you can easily move files to your other computers. You can even link up all your Bluetooth gadgets and use the webcam for videoconferencing.
Fujitsu brings the full PC experience onto the tablet format, and they do it with solid performance and a grown up set of ports, programs and connectivity options. All of this means that they're on the high end of the price range, but if you can use all that extra power and you're looking for a business device it's well worth it.

Need help with Home Theater! (Novice)?
I was given a COBY DVD Home Theater system (http://cobyusa.com/?p=prod&prod_num_id=344&pcat_id=2004) and I am determined to set it up. I also know it is a piece of crap. That being said I am wondering, do I need to purchase a receiver to make this work or does the dvd player act as a receiver itself. I am at my wits end as I have never hooked up a Home Theater before.
It's what's commonly called a "HTIB = Home Theatre in a Box". That means it has an amplifier/tuner /DVD player in a single box. The speakers attach. In other words, it's the equivalent (functionally) of a surround sound receiver and DVD player and speakers in one package. It has no auxillary inputs (so you can't connect anything to it (e.g. XBox)), but it has both audio and video outputs.
Since the DVD player is (probably) connected internally to the receiver portion for audio you only need to select "DVD" as the input (switch on front of reciever) and run a video cable to a TV to watch DVDs. You have a choice of composite (yellow, single RCA) or component (triple RCA red/green/blue). Component is better if your TV handles component input and progressive video, otherwise use composite.
