I have a video cassette recorder (VHS) and Sony Trinitron TV combination...?
When a video cassette is inserted, there is a really fuzzy screen, I mean, REALLLYYYYYY fuzzy, like so fuzzy you can't see it, with a slight picture there, what is the cause of this and can it be manually repaired.
Firstly See if the vcr has a test switch on the back or under a flap at the front, if it does switch it on to test, You should see two white bars on a black background or the reverse depends on which they set up on manufacture. If this happens the head on the vcr needs cleaning so you have to switch it off test get a head cleaning tape and run it through the machine, you may need to do this several times or until you get a clear picture when you put a tape in that plays without graining of the picture, If after several tries with the cleaning tape the effect hasnt changed you may need to try the tuning control of the vcr or the head may be damaged
