Altec IMT800 Review
Again in the 1980s, when portable audio was synonymous with "cassette tapes," boom containers had been a mainstay of music culture. Whereas luggable, battery-powered speaker methods still exist at the moment, they are typically somewhat dainty iPod speakers. iMT800, meanwhile, aims to Altec Lansing iMT800 and match the most effective of the previous and new. It has the look and feel of an old-college, crank-it-until-your-ears-bleed boom field--albeit a quite fashionable one--nevertheless it boasts an iPod/iPhone dock (and it is GSM-shielded, as well, so that you needn't flip the iPhone into airplane mode).
While this will definitely be used as a stay-at-residence stereo, Altec isn't shy about mentioning that it also makes for a superb social gathering system indoors or outside. Whereas the iMT800 doesn't have a second iPod dock, it does offer two 3.5-millimeter line inputs that permit your pals to plug of their MP3 players and cue up their playlists. It is also price noting that there isn't any provision for video output, so you won't be capable of use the Altec Lansing iMT800 to observe iPod videos on an external TV.
A couple different design notes: Should you look at the picture of the unit, you will notice that the protective silver "guard" bar excessive of the iPhone (docked within the bottom middle) appears to be like like it might make it robust to get iPhones/iPods in and out. Do not worry: it actually slides up and down, making the dock simply accessible. Circuit City and Radio Shack told me to go online. But there is nothing I can find to help me. The Line in looks almost like the female connector to a mouse/keyboard- but it goes into the wall for power supply. Helpful replies please.

Altec Lansing's Orbit USB Stereo trumps your laptop's speakers, has split personality (Engadget)
USB speakers aren't exactly headline-grabbing gadgets these days, but the fact
remains that most laptops could still use a little help on the audio end. If
you're in need of a quick fix for your weak-sounding machine, then Altec
Lansing's $49.95 Orbit USB Stereo (iML247) might be worth your consideration.
As the name says for itself, both power and audio input are managed through
one USB cord, meaning no batteries are required here. Better yet, when not in
use, you can simply fold up the legs, stuff the cables into the hollow ends,
and then twist the speakers together to form one smooth tube for storage. Of
course, note that this Orbit won't work with devices sporting the common 3.5mm
headphone jack, and obviously don't expect cinematic sound quality from these
tiny canisters -- hey, there's always a trade-off. Hands-on pics in the
